Finished and TestedPrevious | Home | NextWell, the rest of the assembly only included the installation of the right side exhaust, rider floorboards, and passenger floorboards. I then took the clutch cover off and adjusted the clutch pack and poured in the new primary lubricant. (I use Synthetic ATF). Also put the plug in the transmission and charged it with Red Line Heavy Shockproof Gear Oil. I double-checked all bolts and fasteners that I could, rolled the motorcycle back off the lift table, started it up, and looked for any leaks and listened for any bad sounds. Everything seemed fine, so I took it out for a 15 minute warm-up; after which I brought it back and searched for any leaking oils or funny sounds. None being found, I took her out for another 30-minute ride. Came back home and did another search. Now, it's almost midnight. Enough for this evening. TOTAL ACTUAL WORK TIME: Approximately 12 hours (and that include stopping and taking a lot of pictures). I think I could do it again in eight hours. After a couple of days of rainy
weather, I went out and did some parking lot practice. Got the
motorcycle good and warm. Clutch works great, primary sounds and
feels great, and no leaks developed. I haven't gotten into 5th or
6th gear yet. |
