Compensator Removal

Previous | Home | Next

It is impossible to remove the primary chain and clutch pack without also removing the compensator.  Here, you can see my scrap of aluminum that is inserted diagonally between the clutch sprocket and the compensator sprocket.  It doesn't take much.  Even a stick of oak wood will do the job.   A little heat on the compensator nut from a Propane torch will soften the Locktite and make the job easier. I understand that an impact tool makes the removal easier yet.
