Eccentric Adjustment
Previous | Home | NextRemember where the shift pawl return spring was placed over the eccentric in a previous page? Well, this is where that eccentric is adjusted.
The left picture is of the adjustment allen bolt. The right picture is of the actual adjustment using the same home made tool that I use to set the clutch adjustment locknut when I adjust my clutch.
The instructions say to shift the transmission into
3rd gear. Then, spin the eccentric screw lightly back and forth, feeling
for the freeplay between the arms of the spring. Then, place the
eccentric in the middle of that freeplay and tighten the locknut.
It was easy.
